The head of the Congress Party Sharad Pawar will stay with the INDIA coalition, Nana Patole, the head of the Maharashtra unit of the Parliament, said on Wednesday amid media reports of the Deputy Foreign Minister. Ajit Pawar has offered Sharad Pawar a position in the Union Cabinet.
Earlier, the media reported that former Maharashtra chief minister Prithviraj Chavan said a position in the central cabinet had been offered to Sharad Pawar, staunch NCP member or his daughter Supriya Sule.
Maharashtra Parliamentary Chief of Staff Nana Patole said, “Sharad Pawar has said that he will stay with the INDIA alliance. I am confident that he will go with the INDIA alliance…”

Meanwhile, Supriya Sule has hit back at the claim, saying that no one has approached her with an offer of a portfolio yet. Although she said that party leaders should reconsider why they are making such statements.
When asked by the BJP about a Cabinet position offered by the BJP, NCP leader Supriya Sule said: “No one has offered me anything nor has spoken to me… You should ask them. Maharashtra Congress leader) why they are making such statements I don’t know I personally contacted senior leaders of Congress such as Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge and Gaurav Gogoi but I have no contact with their leaders in Maharashtra.”
The development began when on Wednesday, the leader of the National Assembly and the Leader of the Opposition in the Maharashtra Parliament, Vijay Wadettiwar, questioned the recent meeting between Sharad Pawar and his grandson Ajit Pawar.
Wadettiwar said, “Why did Ajit Pawar regularly meet with Sharad Pawar? The position of the BJP in the state improved even after they split into two parties (NCP, Shiv Sena). Therefore, they had to turn to Sharad Pawar. like him a mass leader. Without his help, the BJP would not have won more Lok Sabha seats from the state next year.”
“Another reason (for the meetings) is that Narendra Modi told Ajit Pawar that he cannot become prime minister unless he convinces Sharad Pawar to join (join the NDA),” Wadettiwar said.
In addition to Wadettiwar, Patole on Monday attacked Deputy CM Ajit Pawar and his uncle about the secret meeting being held in Pune, accusing such meetings of creating confusion among the people.
“Meetings like this are causing confusion among the people. If they’re relatives, what’s the point of meeting in secret?” he say.
In early June, Ajit Pawar, along with 8 loyal MLAs, created a split in the NCP. He then joined the ruling NDA government in the state, with Ajit Pawar being sworn in as deputy premier.
