Thiruvananthapuram: Film and TV actress Aparna Nair, who is believed to have died by suicide on Thursday, was mentally tortured by her husband Sanjith, who is believed to be her mother, Beena. Talking to Manorama News, Aparna’s mother accused Sanjith of abetting the suicide. She accuses Sanjith of being responsible for Aparna’s death.
Aparna ended her life minutes after talking to her mother over a video call. During the conversation, Aparna is said to have told her mother that she couldn’t stand his mental torture anymore.
“Only Aparna and Sanjith know what happened between them. She called me on Friday morning and told me she was ‘going’. Immediately, I contacted Sanjith and asked him to check whether Aparna was safe or not. I directed him to break down the door and prevent her from taking a wrong step. But he is not ready to pay attention to my words,” Beena affirmed.
Sanjith found Aparna hanged in his room almost 30 minutes after Beena’s call. Beena suggested that Sanjith could have saved Aparna if he had rushed into the room right after receiving her call.
It is believed that Sanjith was a drunkard who used to mentally torture Aparna. Her mother also confirmed that their married life was in trouble.
The 33-year-old actor, who has acted in several films and numerous TV series, was found hanged at her home near Karamana on Thursday night.
Police said Aparna was staying with her husband and their two children.
The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Police said they were informed of this from the private hospital where she was admitted after being found hanged.
Police have filed a case of unusual death and opened an investigation.
Aparna has acted in movies like ‘Meghatheertham’, ‘Muthugau’, ‘Achayans’, ‘Kodathi Samaksham Balan Vakil’, ‘Kalki’ and TV series like ‘Chandanamazha’, ‘Atmasakhi’, ‘Maithili Veendum’ ‘.
