The first reviews of the latest DC movie green beetle here. And despite all the negativity and gloom surrounding the film’s box office prospects, the critical reception so far has been rather encouraging. At the time of this writing, the film has a score of 83% on the popular review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.
The Critical Consensus writes, “Driven by Xolo Maridueña’s engaging performance in the title role, green beetle is a refreshing family-focused superhero film with lots of humor and love.” Starring Xolo Maridueña as Jaime Reyes’ version of the Blue Beetle, the film was directed by Ángel Manuel Soto. and Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer wrote the script. Adriana Barraza, Damián Alcázar, Raoul Max Trujillo, Susan Sarandon and George Lopez also starred.

BBC.com’s Nicholas Barber was less than impressed. “Every time the revolutionary live action is mentioned, there is a stereotypical scene, so I don’t believe the film will make a huge leap forward in terms of performance,” he wrote.
Consequence’s Clint Worthington wrote, “A petty, low-risk superhero film brimming with charm and cultural ethos, even if the exoskeleton around it is a bit too brittle for its own good. It.”
Screen Rant’s Tatiana Hullender wrote, “Blue Beetle’s family-centric story has global appeal, but the strength of the new DC movie lies in Jaime Reyes’ relationship with his Mexican heritage. .”
The Washington Post’s Michael O’Sullivan said the film “turns into the sort of chaotic conflict of cyborg villains that has become, in the age of comic books, demoralizingly repetitive and , dare I say, boring.”
Who, really, who green beetle?
The Blue Beetle is a DC Comics favorite, known for his innovative gear, acrobatic skills, and heroic spirit. He’s been a part of the DC Universe for over 80 years in one form or another and remains a fan favorite to this day. The original Blue Beetle, Dan Garrett, was created by Charles Nicholas Wojtkoski and first appeared in Mystery Men Comics #1 in 1939. The character was later revived by Charlton Comics in the 1960s and later by DC Comics. acquired in the 1980s. In recent years, DC Comics has introduced a new version of the Blue Beetle, Jaime Reyes, which is also the subject of the aforementioned film.
