New Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane says his career at the Bundesliga club got off to a perfect start after he scored and assisted in their 4-0 win over Werder Bremen at the Weserstadion.
Speaking after their win, Kane said he has had a perfect start to Bayern Munich and is looking forward to the coming weeks. Kane joined Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur for a reported fee of £100 million.
“It’s been fantastic. There’s been a lot of talk and a lot of constructive comments about this game, so I can’t wait to get out there and get started. Overall, this is just a start. perfect and I’m looking forward to next week and the week after,” Kane said.
The England captain said Bayern Munich have a great squad and he is delighted to be a part of it. Bayern Munich won the Bundesliga title last season and have had a winning start to the 2023/24 season.
“I think with the speed that we have in the team around me, it works perfectly. But first I’m a 9, so I have to get in the box and run forward. I am really happy. We have a great squad, I’m happy to be a part of it. Overall, it was just a really good performance by the team,” added Kane.
He went on to say that he really enjoyed his debut, emphasizing that the fans on both sides were great throughout the match. Kane leaves Tottenham as their all-time top scorer, scoring 280 goals in 435 games.
“How wonderful. Fans from both sides were in disbelief throughout the entire match. [It’s] maybe really different from some of the Premier League atmospheres I’ve been through. Our away fans are amazing but also their fans, they are amazing. I really enjoyed my experience and I’m glad we won,” Kane said.
After beating Bremen 4-0, Bayern will turn their attention to Augsburg on August 27.
