Landing Chandrayaan-3: The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) on Sunday said space enthusiasts around the world can watch Chandrayaan-3’s landing at 6:04 pm on August 23. Chandrayaan-3 can be watched live on ISRO’s official website, its official YouTube channel, ISRO’s Facebook page, and DD National from 5:27pm onwards on August 23rd. ISRO has also asked schools and other educational institutions to broadcast live the Chandrayaan-3 landings. The Indian space agency has asked the organizations to make the event public to their students and faculty in addition to hosting the live stream. Earlier in the day, ISRO shared images of the far side of the Moon taken on August 19 by the Landing Hazard Detection and Avoidance Camera (LHDAC) mounted inside the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft .

As the Indians are looking forward to a smooth landing of Chandrayaan-3, here is the spacecraft’s journey so far:
July 7-13: Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft launch date is scheduled after electrical tests are completed and launch drills are conducted
July 14: Chandrayaan-3 was successfully launched into space
July 15: The first orbital lift maneuver took place and was successful.
July 17: As Chandrayaan-3 inches closer to the Moon, a second orbital lift is performed.
July 22: The fourth orbital lift or Earth marginal shot is complete.
July 25: Another orbital lift is performed, and a trans-moon injection is scheduled for August 1.
August 1st: Chandrayaan-3 was put into trans-lunar orbit, and lunar orbital entry (LOI) is scheduled for August 5.
August 5: An important milestone was reached when Chandrayaan-3 was successfully put into lunar orbit.
August 6-16: Chandrayaan-3’s orbit descends from 170 km x 4313 km around the Moon to 153 km x 163 km.
August 17: The amphibious module was successfully separated from the propulsion module and deceleration is scheduled for August 18.
August 19: The Chandrayaan-3 lander module has only a 113 km x 157 km orbit around the Moon. A second deceleration is scheduled for August 20.
August 20: The second and final deceleration was conducted, reducing the lander module’s orbit to 25 km x 134 km.
