Fifty Fifty band members press criminal charges against their agency: ‘We had no other choice’ | Music News

kpop band FIFTY FIFTY has filed a criminal complaint against the management company ATTRAKT and CEO Jun Hong Joon for alleged breach of contract. Members-Sio, Saena, Aran and Keena – took to social media and shared a handwritten message to address the rumors surrounding the controversy.

They write, “First we want to take this opportunity to correct the wrongs that have been coerced in our relationship with the agency. And to protect our music, we have no choice. So, after much consideration, our members have decided to face this path.” They also apologized to fans for causing concern and added that ‘misunderstandings and allegations are mounting’.

The members expressed that it was ‘heartbreaking’ to see so many false stories reported, adding that they were careful when commenting on the whole matter. They said, “We believe that taking this matter to court based on facts is the right way to resolve the situation. We had hoped that the truth would be revealed during the trial and that our rights would be protected. We will continue to collect and submit fact-based documents and evidence. In doing so, we hope to clear up any doubts and misunderstandings.”

They are accusing him of using the revenue earned by the team to pay off debt to his other company, StarCrew.

In June, members have applied for a ban on their exclusive contract with ATTRAKT. However, the agency disagree, saying that an outside company, Warner Music Korea, is trying to recruit their members. The group said the CEO of ATTRAKT used the money from the sale of their album to pay off debts to his other agency, StarCrew Entertainment.

FIFTY FIFTY debuted in November 2022 and is famous for the song “Cupid”. They recently released the song “Barbie Dreams” for Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie.
