Member of Parliament Mr. Gandhi on August 20 visited the banks of the Pangong Tso River in Ladakh and paid tribute to his father, former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his birthday.
He said locals in Ladakh, which was split off as a Union Territory from J&K in 2019, “have had too many complaints”.
“Surname [people of Ladakh] are not satisfied with the status that has been given to them, they want representation and have unemployment problems,” he said. Gandhi said.
He said people suggested that Ladakh should not be run by the bureaucracy but should be run by the voice of the people.
