Gadar 2 begins his theatrical journey with a resounding, cumulative bang $40.1 crore on opening Friday. The momentum continued the next day, registering a 7.43% gain as collections hit $43.08 cores. The film’s appeal appeared to peak on Sunday, with an impressive 20.01% increase in collections, leading to a $yield 51.7 cores.
Gadar 2 encountered a temporary drop in fortunes on Wednesday, with a 25.15% drop resulting in $38.7 crore collection on Monday. Showing resilience like a compelling scripted twist, the film experienced a staggering 43.15% resurgence on Tuesday, coinciding with Independence Day. As expected, it took advantage of the long weekend and accumulated $55.40 crore on Day I.
As attention turns to Wednesday, early estimates indicate that Gadar 2 grip one $34.50 crore collection. While this number is preliminary, it certainly adds an extra layer of prediction to the film’s final week one gross.
Over three thousand tickets were sold for Day 7, according to pre-booking estimates. The collection is scheduled to stand at $7.24 crore for Saturday.
Gadar 2 received positive reviews from the public, as it is evident from the numbers. Although Sunny Deol’s acting was highly appreciated, critics did not give encouraging feedback.
The Hindustan Times wrote: “Sunny Deol’s chest puncher is old, could have been avoided. Gadar 2 lack of direction,” according to The Times of India.
Critic Anupama Chopra said: “Sunny Deol as Tara Singh reenacts the hand pump and ‘zindabad’ scenes but there is little originality and impact in the new film. “The more you scream, the less you feel.”
