TVS Motor Company has just introduced its second electric scooter, called TVS X. This innovative scooter is built on the robust TVS XLETON platform, known for its high-strength aluminum components. . The TVS X sets itself apart as a premium electric scooter, boasting a host of advanced digital and connectivity features. These include an intuitive navigation system, a mapping mechanism for locating EV chargers, real-time vehicle location sharing, etc.
Under the hood, the TVS X incorporates an air-cooled ram motor, providing efficient cooling in a variety of driving conditions. This scooter introduces a new permanent magnet motor that can reach a top speed of 105 km/h, reaching 0-40 km/h in just 2.6 seconds. It gives the driver a choice of three distinct driving modes: Stealth, Xtride and Xonic.
Powering this electrical power is a 3.8 kWh battery capacity, with fast home charging that charges 0-50% in under an hour using a 3 kW fast charger. The scooter also introduces selectable regenerative braking and an advanced ABS system for enhanced safety.
As a smart scooter, TVS X is equipped with Play Tech, which opens the door for healthcare functions, gaming, web browsing and live video. This smart scooter can seamlessly connect with smartphones, smartwatches and helmets. Furthermore, this scooter is equipped with Smart Shield, a security feature designed to prevent unauthorized access.
TVS X has been launched with an initial price of Rs 2.49 lakh (old showroom). Additionally, the company is offering a 950W portable charger priced at Rs 16,275, along with a 3 kW smart home charger option. Notably, the FAME offer does not apply to the TVS X model.
The company has announced that orders are now open and deliveries are expected to begin in November 2023. TVS X will be exported to all TVS global markets starting beginning of the next financial year.
