Powering the X is a 4.4kWh battery pack with an IDC range of 140 km paired with a twin frame suspended by telescopic forks and a monoshock. The battery pack can be charged using the Smart X Home fast charger, which can be charged from 0 to 50 percent in 50 minutes (optional additional 3 kW fast charger) or using the 950W portable charger that takes 4 hours and 30 minutes to charge. charging. 0 to 80 percent. The price of the mobile charger is Rs 16,275 (GST included).
The PMSM motor on the X is rated for 11kW of peak power (7kW continuous power) and 40Nm of peak torque. Braking is handled by a 220 mm disc at the front and a 195 mm disc at the rear. A new feature on the X is the presence of ABS (albeit a single-channel system), making it the first e-scooter to do so. The X rides on 12-inch wheels with 100-segment tires at the front and 110 rims at the rear.
The TVS X builds on TVS’s XLETON platform and comes in a maxi-style format, although the 770 mm seat height is very accessible. A very unique feature here is the air-cooled Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) motor and TVS claims the X can accelerate from standstill to 40 km/h in just 2 hours. 0.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 105 km/h. There are three driving modes – Xtealth, Xtride, Xonic. The regenerative braking system is also offered with different levels for you to choose from.
The TVS X features a 10/25-inch TFT instrument panel that can be adjusted to any angle to better suit the driver. This giant dash has a ton of features including Bluetooth connectivity for music playback and navigational alerts. In fact, if you’re standing still, you can watch videos or play games on the console if you choose to use the PlayTech entertainment system. The X also has reverse assist, cruise control as well as a slope hold function.
The styling is quite radical and resembles the well-received Creon concept from Auto Expo 2018. What’s most notable here is that the X doesn’t have floorboards and instead the backbone of the frame takes up that space. The X also has a split seat setup, which is rare on a scooter. And speaking of storage space, the area under the seats has a capacity of 19 liters.
At Rs 2.50 lakh, the TVS X is the most expensive e-scooter on sale today and does not receive the benefit of the FAME-II subsidy. Pre-orders will begin tonight and TVS X deliveries are expected to begin in November 2023, first in Bengaluru and then across India in March 2024. 2,000 owners First owners will receive a Smart Meter and a ‘Managed Concierge’ package for free, worth Rs 18,000.
